AURORA, Ill. – State Rep. Barbara Hernandez, D-Aurora, is holding a free healthcare enrollment event so residents can learn more about the expansion of Medicaid in Illinois. The event will take place Saturday, Nov. 19, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. It will be held at the Aurora Public Library, in the Large Meeting Room, at 555 S. Eola Road in Aurora.
“Recent expansions to Medicaid and opportunities to take advantages of programs already in place make this an ideal time to learn more about your enrollment prospects,” Hernandez said. “Immigrants ages 42 and up, regardless of citizenship status, can finally be a part of this vital program that has done so much for so many people.”
Enrollment specialists, who are fluent in Spanish as well as English, will be there to help attendees navigate Medicaid. To assist in the enrollment process, people are encouraged to bring documents including proof of idenetity, proof of address, proof of income and proof of household size. 75 free flu shots will also be given out to anyone who is interested. Attendees must sign up beforehand at tinyurl.com/2P8R6S46 for English or https://bit.ly/seguromedico42 for Spanish, or by calling 630-898-6493 or 630-270-1848.
