Katie Stuart Statement on Worker Deaths

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – State Rep. Katie Stuart, D-Edwardsville, issued a statement following the deaths of two workers inside an Edwardsville manhole on Aug. 19.

“My heart goes out to the friends and family of these two workers. Losing a loved one is among the most painful and trying experiences in life. I also want to commend the outstanding response by our dedicated first responders, one of whom was injured and taken to a hospital while attempting to help the victims. My thoughts are with these workers’ families at this heartbreaking time, and I am standing by to assist in any way that I can.”
