CHICAGO – State Rep. Edgar Gonzalez Jr., D-Chicago, is getting his community ready for the new school year with a Back to School Fair on Saturday, July 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Maria Saucedo Scholastic Academy in Little Village. Gonzalez will be joined by state Sen. Celina Villanueva, state Rep. Theresa Mah and Cook County Commissioner Alma Anaya.
“Back to school time can be financially tough and stressful for many families, so I’m excited to host this fair and help alleviate some of that burden,” Gonzalez said. “I welcome everyone in my community to come out for the things their families need for a healthy, happy and great school year.”
In addition to handing out backpacks and other school supplies, COVID-19 booster shots for children 6 months and older, health information and resources, and live entertainment will be available. Children will need a parent or guardian to sign off on their booster shot.
