Avelar Co-Sponsors Holiday Toy Giveaway with Women of Self Love Inc.

BOLINGBROOK, Ill. – As the holidays roll in, state Rep. Dagmara “Dee” Avelar, D-Bolingbrook, is partnering with Women of Self Love Inc. and other organizations for their 2nd annual toy giveaway. The event will be held Monday, Dec. 13 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., at 201 Canterbury Lane Community Center, Bolingbrook, IL inside the Bolingbrook Community Center Building.

“For many kids, the holidays are a time to take a break from school and spend quality time with family and friends,” Avelar said. “However, not all kids have the luxury of new toys because money might be tight. It is important that we engage with our neighbors to ensure that they have just as much fun this holiday season. Toy giveaways provide relief for some families and we are happy to have organizations in the district who come together to make it all happen.”

The 2nd Annual Toy Giveaway aims to provide free toys to families, as well as bring some holiday cheer during these difficult times. There will be a resource table with information regarding state services to assist families.
