Yednock Highlights Suicide Awareness, Attends Out of the Darkness LaSalle County Walk

OTTAWA, Ill. – To raise awareness of suicide prevention, state Rep. Lance Yednock, D-Ottawa, recently participated in the Out of the Darkness Lasalle County Walk.

“Depression and suicide can affect anyone, regardless of age, race, income or gender,” said Yednock. “This walk is a time for those currently dealing with depression in their life to find a support system and those previously affected to honor lost loved ones while also working towards curbing suicide numbers.”

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is hosting Out of the Darkness walks throughout the United States. Out of the Darkness walks allow those affected by suicide – and those who support them – to  raise awareness and much-needed funds, strongly sending the message that suicide is preventable, and that no one is alone. Yednock recently attended the Out of the Darkness Walk in LaSalle County.
