CARPENTERSVILLE, Ill. – State Rep. Suzanne Ness, D-Crystal Lake, is partnering with the Village of Lake in the Hills and the Secretary of State’s Office to host a Mobile DMV event on Saturday, Aug. 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lake in the Hills Village Hall, located at 600 Harvest Gate.
“Many Secretary of State facilities had to close or run at limited capacity this past year due to the pandemic, leaving many individuals needing to make renewals at the DMV,” said Ness. “I am excited to be working with the Secretary of State’s office to bring their Mobile Driver Service Unit event to the 66th district, ensuring that seniors and families have a convenient way of accessing services and can avoid waiting in long lines at the DMV. I encourage any individual who needs to renew their ID or license plate sticker to come out to our mobile DMV event in Lake in the Hills.”
Ness’ event will offer many of the services offered at a regular DMV office, including renewal or correction of a driver’s license, state ID cards, license plate stickers, motor voter registration and organ donor registration. Real ID compliant driver’s licenses and ID cards must be processed at a driver service facility, and individuals will not be able to process Real IDs at this event. Seniors age 75 and up need to visit the DMV to renew a driver’s license, and proper identification will be needed for the above services. Individuals can also renew a new driver’s license or state ID card online, as well as purchase license plate stickers, by visiting the Secretary of State’s office website at www.cyberdriveillinois.com.
