ROUND LAKE BEACH, Ill. – State Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, is highlighting an opportunity for residents to get vaccinated at the Lake County Fairground without having to make an appointment.
“In order to return to normalcy, it is critical that we all get fully vaccinated as soon as possible,” said Yingling. “I highly encourage residents to get this vaccine, not only to protect themselves but also their friends, family, and the community.”
The Lake County Health Department will be offering walk-in COVID-19 vaccinations at the Lake County Fairgrounds, located at 1060 E. Peterson Road in Grayslake. Walk-ins will be available on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from noon to 3 p.m. and Wednesdays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Anyone ages 16 and over is eligible, with those ages 16 and 17 requiring an adult or guardian to be present. For those who prefer to schedule an appointment or would like more information, please visit the Lake County Health Department’s vaccination portal at allvax.lakecohealth.org.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Yingling has worked to provide support to residents. Last session, he voted to allocate $416 million to COVID-19 testing and other related services. In addition, Yingling backed legislation to crack down on price gouging during the pandemic.
“The COVID-19 vaccine is safe, effective, and represents our best shot to ending this pandemic,” said Yingling. “I applaud the Lake County Health Department for their incredible work in getting residents vaccinated, and I will continue to do my part to ensure that we get as many people vaccinated as we can.”
