CHICAGO, Ill. – In an effort to prepare professionals looking for work, state Rep. Fran Hurley, D-Chicago, will host a virtual job fair seminar on April 19 at 6 p.m. via Zoom.
“This past year has shown many how to best navigate the virtual workforce while also marketing their best skills without actually ever seeing their employer in-person,” said Hurley. “All these new changes can make it difficult to understand how to put your best foot forward in job applications and interviews. I’m hoping this seminar will allow participants to see that while even our workplace has changed, there are always new ways to improve your skills when looking for a new job or career.”
The virtual job fair seminar will feature a presentation from Maureen Coogan, Career Networking Consultant, on the best ways to market yourself on LinkedIn and also learn about different strategies to best market yourself virtually. The virtual seminar will be held on April 19 from 6 to 7 p.m. and is free to the public. To register, email repfranhurley@gmail.com. All participants will receive a zoom link upon registration.
“I am excited to bring these opportunities to the constituents of my district,” continued Hurley. “Although we are in unprecedented times, we can still learn new skills to help us navigate this new world and help job seekers prepare for a new career or future opportunities.”
