JOLIET, Ill. – As the state continues to battle the COVID-19 pandemic, state Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, is highlighting volunteer opportunities with the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) to help with promoting relevant and accurate information as an Illinois COVID-19 Ambassador.

“In an age where false information can be spread quicky, it is vital that we have those dedicated to sharing accurate and relevant information,” said Manley. “COVID-19 Ambassadors can help be part of the solution by promoting vital information about testing, vaccinations, and prevention techniques.”

Manley is highlighting opportunities with the IDPH to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 by participating in their COVID-19 Ambassadors program. Ambassadors help their community by proactively promoting COVID-19 prevention measures and resources to their community. Serving as an ambassador includes organizing virtual activities such as Facebook Life events, providing input on messaging, and commending those who are following public health guidelines. Throughout the pandemic, Manley has worked to promote helpful and accurate information to her district in addition to her legislative work providing needed emergency relief. To participate in the COVID-19 Ambassador program or learn more, visit IDPH’s website at https://www.dph.illinois.gov/covid19/ambassador-program.

“By donating just a couple of hours each month, Ambassadors help make a meaningful difference in helping their community in the fight against COVID-19,” said Manley. “I encourage anyone willing to help to visit the IDPH website to help bring this public health crisis to an end.”
