Yang Rohr Inaugurated to First Term, Committed to Providing Tax Relief for Families and Investing in Small Businesses and Workforce

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – On Wednesday, state Rep. Janet Yang Rohr, D-Naperville, took the oath of office and became the 41st District’s new state representative in the Illinois House for the 102nd General Assembly. She issued the following statement:

“It is truly an honor to be trusted by the residents of the 41st District to be their new state representative. I grew up in the Naperville community, I met my husband here, and it is in this community where we now raise our family. Over the next two years, I will be devoted to standing up for the hard-working families of DuPage and Will counties and fighting for a better Illinois for our children.

“I stand ready to work with my fellow legislators on both sides of the aisle to create real solutions to the real problems facing the state. With my nearly 20 years in the financial sector and through my work on the Naperville 203 school board, I will use my knowledge and abilities to fight for tax relief for middle-class families, women’s rights, our small businesses, and our students, no matter what.

“There are going to be a lot of tough decisions to be made during this upcoming session due to the budget gaps caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, but I am confident that by working together and putting political showmanship aside, the General Assembly can build a stronger Illinois where individuals can receive an affordable education, affordable healthcare, and fair wages.

“We must do what it takes to provide COVID-19 relief for our families and local businesses and fight against all forms of discrimination. As the representative of the 41st District, I will work with all members of the community to implement positive changes that lift up Illinois.”
