Mason Highlights Health Care Marketplace Open Enrollment Period

GURNEE, Ill. – As the Affordable Care Act Health Insurance Marketplace Open Enrollment period enters its final two weeks, state Rep. Joyce Mason, D-Gurnee, is reminding residents about the upcoming enrollment deadline and encouraging those without health insurance to sign up for a plan.

“If you’ve lost your employer-sponsored health insurance and your Special Enrollment period has passed, purchasing a plan during the Open Enrollment period is an easy way to get covered again,” Mason said. “For those who already have health care coverage through the ACA Marketplace, now is also a good time to review your plan and determine if it’s still the right fit for you.”

The ACA Health Insurance Marketplace Open Enrollment period began on Nov. 1 and ends on Dec. 15. A wide variety of health insurance plans with varying premium and deductible costs are available through the marketplace.
