DES PLAINES, Ill. – State Rep. Marty Moylan, D-Des Plaines, is reminding residents who have not already done so to complete the 2020 Census by stressing the impact it will have on local funding and representation.
“It is incredibly important to respond to the Census in order for Illinois to receive the resources and representation that it deserves,” Moylan said. “The higher the count we have, the more funding we will receive for our communities that local institutions depend on.”
The 2020 Census is entering the final stages of its count, with field data collection expected to conclude at the end of September. Those who have not yet responded may complete it online at www.2020census.gov, over the phone at 844-330-2020, or by mailing their questionnaire to the U.S. Census Bureau National Processing Center located at 1201 E. 10th St. in Jeffersonville, IN 47132. All answers are legally required to remain confidential. Census response data is used to determine congressional representation in each state and provides information that will determine how hundreds of billions of dollars in federal funds are allocated.
“The process of completing the Census is very simple and only takes a few minutes, but is crucial to every community in Illinois,” Moylan said. “Your voice matters, so please take the time to complete the Census for the benefit of yourself and every other Illinois resident.”
