CHICAGO – State Rep. Justin Slaughter, D-Chicago, recently partnered with 21st Ward Alderman Howard B. Brookins, Jr. and Cook County Commissioner Stanley Moore to host their annual back-to-school fair for students and families.

“As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, many families in our community are struggling to afford the supplies needed to succeed in the upcoming school year,” Slaughter said. “I’m grateful to be able to work with local organizations and community partners to help ensure our students are well-equipped for their academic careers.”

Slaughter and local partners distributed school supplies and laptop computers to local families to help students prepare for the upcoming school year. The event also featured COVID-19 testing and other health screenings.
