Scherer Hosts Census Sign-up Workshops

DECATUR, Ill. – To ensure all local residents are counted and Central Illinois communities receive their fair share of federal funding and resources for schools, roads and more, Rep. Sue Scherer, D-Decatur, is hosting a series of Census sign-up workshops this week for anyone who may need assistance completing Census forms.

“Local participation in the Census is critical, as the results will determine the federal funding our area receives for our health, our children’s education, and our job-creating infrastructure over the next decade,” said Scherer. “With the deadline to complete the Census approaching, I want to ensure our communities receive the funding they deserve for our schools, hospitals, roads, emergency and public safety services and many other resources.”

Scherer will be hosting two community workshops to help residents complete the Census:

Tuesday, June 30	Wednesday, July 1

Both events are free and open to the public. Attendees are asked to adhere to proper social distancing measures.
