SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, was sworn in for a new term at the University of Illinois at Springfield’s Sangamon Auditorium on Wednesday, January 11. The Lake County lawmaker released this statement following the ceremony:
“I am honored to fight on behalf of the residents in the 62nd Legislative District to pass a budget that protects middle-class Illinoisans, secure property tax relief, create a stronger economy and enhance educational opportunities for our youth.
Illinois continues to have its challenges, and I am committed to working with Republican and Democrats to deliver a responsible budget and real tax relief.
I support plans that make Illinois financially stable by cutting wasteful spending and fraud, lessening tax burdens for working families and helping veterans and seniors.
Following through on my commitment to remain an open and accessible representative, I will continue to take a proactive approach to communicating with constituents by hosting numerous events and seminars throughout the district, going door-to-door, sending out electronic newsletters to update constituents, visiting local community groups, businesses, and social service providers, and maintaining an active presence on social media.
I will also be increasing my efforts to inform local residents of job opportunities, resume writing classes and other employment related activities. My office is a resource available to everyone.”
Yingling represents the 62nd District, which contains portions of Gages Lake, Grayslake, Gurnee, Hainesville, the Round Lake communities, Wauconda and Wildwood.
