“Year-round, nurses work to provide life-saving care for members in our community, but notably now are among the true heroes for their work on the front lines of the fight against COVID-19,” said Hernandez. “Nurses across our state, including retired nurses who have volunteered to return to service during the pandemic, are working day and night in unforeseen conditions to protect the lives of our loved ones, and we must do our part in the fight against COVID-19 by following the stay at home order.”
To show her support for local nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic, Hernandez has been calling nurses in the district to show her appreciation and gratitude for their work year-round, and especially now during these unprecedented times. Hernandez is reminding residents that the best way to protect and support nurses and other health care workers and slow the spread of COVID-19 is to abide by the state’s stay at home order guidelines, practice social distancing and stay home when possible.
“We will get through this crisis thanks to the nurses and health care professionals who put their health at risk every day to take care of others,” said Hernandez. “It is our jobs now to adhere to the precautionary measures in place in order to support our healthcare workers and save lives.”
