Manley Highlights National Nurses Week, Thanks Healthcare Workers for Continued Efforts

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – To thank healthcare workers and other medical professionals for their continued work to protect our community during the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, state Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, is highlighting National Nurses Week.

“Our nurses, medical workers, first responders and paramedics are working bravely and selflessly on the frontlines every day in the fight against the COVID-19 health crisis,” said Manley. “Our healthcare workers putting themselves into harm’s way to help save lives during this time deserve endless thanks and support, and I want them to know our community stands with them during this difficult time.”

To show her support for nurses and other healthcare workers during the COVID-19 health crisis, Manley is highlighting National Nurses Week, and is urging residents to abide by the governor’s extended stay at home order. The extended stay at home order lasts until May 30, requires residents to wear face coverings in public places where maintaining social distancing guidelines of six feet is difficult, like grocery stores, and urges residents to continue staying home as much as possible.

“We can show our appreciation to our nurses, healthcare workers and other first responders during this time by continuing to do our part in the fight against COVID-19 by following the stay at home order,” continued Manley. “It is up to us to continue to stay home and only venture out for essential reasons. By following social distancing guidelines, wearing a face covering in public places and staying up-to-date on new safety recommendations as they arise we can help support our healthcare workers and save lives.”
