“Over these past few months, we have all seen the heroism of so many making sacrifices to keep others safe and healthy,” said Yingling. “One easy yet incredibly impactful way to help do your part to keep others healthy is to register to become an organ donor.”
According to the U.S. Human Services and Resource Administration (HRSA), 20 Americans die each day waiting for an organ transplant. Despite HRSA reporting that over 150 million Americans are registered as organ donors, there is an immediate need for more. There are over 110 thousand people waiting for potentially lifesaving organ transplants. For more information or to register, please visit https://www.lifegoeson.com/.
Yingling has supported efforts to protect organ donors and encourage residents to donate. He cosponsored House Bill 2847, which protects donors from retaliation from their employers for taking a leave of absence for donating.
“As this current epidemic has shown, it is up to communities to work together to help keep each other healthy,” said Yingling. “I highly encourage residents to consider making a difference in the lives of others by becoming an organ donor.”
