“To best fight against this virus, we must all do our part to support those on the frontlines,” said Yingling. “Our nurses, doctors and other medical professionals desperately need protective equipment to do their jobs as safely and effectively as possible, which is why it is so important that anyone who has any extra of these items to donate them as soon as possible.”
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, PPE shortages across Illinois threaten to place medical providers and patients at further risk to the virus. Those with equipment still in the manufacturer’s original packaging should contact ppe.donations@illinois.gov, and those with opened or homemade equipment should contact their local first responders.
“Medical providers are putting themselves at risk to serve our community,” said Yingling. “We need to give back and make sure we are doing everything we can to keep them as healthy and safe as possible.”
