BLOOMINGDALE, Ill. – In light of the ongoing pandemic, state Rep. Diane Pappas, D-Itasca, is promoting the Northern Illinois Food Bank to help residents struggling with food insecurity during the COVID-19 emergency.

“As we continue to respond to this extremely difficult situation, it’s crucial that we help vulnerable members in our community who do not have access to food,” said Pappas. “To combat this health crisis, we must work together to ensure everyone has access to good, quality food.”

Residents who are or know someone in need of food can locate their nearest food pantry programby entering their information at the official Northern Illinois Food Bank’s website, https://solvehungertoday.org/get-help/where-to-get-food/. Residents who have questions or concerns about the food bank’s SNAP program can also contact their SNAP outreach staff at 844-600-SNAP (7627). Pappas encourages residents who need help navigating services to contact her district office at 224-520-8838.

“Food access and health go hand-in-hand, and it is it crucial that we make sure our most vulnerable community members can access nutritious food,” said Pappas. “Now more than ever, we need to do everything we can to look out for one another.”
