SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – To prioritize public health and urge residents to take proactive measures to protect their wellbeing, state Rep. Diane Pappas, D-Itasca, is canceling her upcoming Pastries with Pappas event scheduled for March 1, her March Citizen Advisory Panels and her monthly Choose Your Issue information session scheduled for April 4.

“As a representative and resident of our community, my number one priority is to look out for the health and safety of our neighbors,” Pappas said. “With that in mind, I am prioritizing public health and practicing caution by canceling my upcoming in-district events through April 4. With that said, I still wish to hear directly from members of our community and will be available at my district office. Residents in need of assistance with state issues or wishing to discuss any issue facing the state or our community with me can always reach me at 224-520-8838 or RepDPappas@gmail.com.”

Pappas urges residents to stay informed on developments with the coronavirus pandemic with accurate and up-to-date information provided on the Illinois Department of Public Health’s website, www.dph.illinois.gov. Pappas intends to reschedule district events at a date to be determined later in accordance with best practices advised by healthcare authorities.
