LIBERTYVILLE, Ill. – State Rep. Mary Edly-Allen, D-Libertyville, is hosting an upcoming Mary on the Matters constituent meet and greet on Monday, March 23 from 10 am to 11 am at the Ela Public Library located at 275 Mohawk Trail in Lake Zurich.

“I host these meetings to ensure that my constituents have every opportunity to talk to me about what matters most to them. It’s important for me as a representative to go directly to the people I represent to understand the needs and concerns of our community,” said Edly-Allen. “Mary on the Matters events give me an opportunity to travel the district to hear the opinions of my neighbors in a welcoming and informal setting where we can have an open and honest dialogue about the very serious issues facing the state.”

Rep. Edly-Allen will answer questions from constituents in a more personal, one-on-one setting. The event is free and open to the public. Edly-Allen hosts events at libraries, local coffee shops and restaurants to give residents an opportunity to share their ideas in a more casual atmosphere.

“This legislative session, I’m supporting legislation to provide tax relief to local families and seniors, backing measures to increase transparency in government and the lobbying industry, and pushing for increased collaboration to create jobs and economic opportunity in our region,” Edly-Allen added. “I’m eager to update local residents on some of these initiatives I’m working on, and learn how I can best involve our community in the policymaking process. I believe very strongly that legislation and the laws we pass are only made better by working together and hearing all perspectives on the issues.”
