SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Emanuel “Chris” Welch, D-Hillside, issued the following statement after Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s Budget address:
“To continue to move Illinois forward we need to build on the progress that we made with last year’s budget.
“I am committed to working with the governor and my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to craft a bipartisan, balanced budget that preserves funding for vital programs, invests in our local schools, reduces unnecessary waste, provides real property tax relief to middle-class homeowners and continues to pay down our backlog of bills.
“This task will not be easy and it will require a bipartisan effort and tough-choices, but I have faith that by working together we can continue to build a brighter future for middle-class families in Illinois.”
