SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Diane Pappas, D-Itasca, is hosting a ‘Pastries with Pappas’ event to meet constituents and discuss important issues facing the community on Saturday, Jan. 18, from 10 a.m. to noon in the Bartlett Park District Community Center at 700 S. Bartlett Rd. in Bartlett.

“Meeting with the people in our area to discuss the major topics facing this community is key so when I return to Springfield, I can best advocate for the priorities of everyone I represent,” Pappas said. “It’s during these events that I hear from parents who are working two jobs and struggling to pay their property tax bills, retirees who rely on their pensions for financial stability and families with children with special needs who urgently need more affordable healthcare. Feedback like this is invaluable to my work advocating for our community, and I hope to see everyone at our next January 18 event.”

Pappas’ event is one of her many efforts to stay connected with the community and receive input about her priorities as a legislator. She hosts a “Pastries with Pappas” event every month at various locations throughout District 45. These events are free and open to the public. For any questions or thoughts on how to help build a stronger Illinois, Pappas can be reached at 224-520-8838 or RepDPappas@gmail.com.
