HILLSIDE, Ill. – To make sure that our community has a voice in Springfield, state Rep. Emanuel “Chris” Welch, D-Hillside, is urging residents to send him their ideas to help improve Illinois.
“It’s important to me that I am doing everything I can to be a strong voice for the residents of my district,” Welch said. “That means proactively seeking the input of our community and taking the ideas of residents in our area and turning that into actual legislation that can lead to positive change for our area.”
Welch is seeking residents’ legislative ideas in an effort to engage the community and work with them to pass legislation that will help our community. Residents whose bill ideas become legislation will have the opportunity to testify on their ideas and why they should become law in Springfield. The upcoming General Assembly session is scheduled to begin in on Jan. 28.
“I look forward to working with residents to help create the changes that will lift up our communities,” Welch said. “I strongly encourage area residents to submit their ideas, especially young people who would like to get involved in their community.”
For more information, or to submit your idea contact Welch’s district office at 708-450-1000 or repwelch@emanuelchriswelch.com.
