DES PLAINES, Ill – As the holiday shopping season gets underway, state Rep. Marty Moylan, D-Des Plaines, is reminding residents of the Attorney General’s 2019 safe shopping guide identifying products and toys that have been recalled and that are potentially hazardous to consumers.
“We all want to make sure that our children are safe and that we give presents that they can enjoy,” Moylan said. “I am strongly encouraging all residents, especially those with young children, to read this guide so that they can remove any potentially hazardous items from their homes.”
The annual Attorney General Safe Shopping guide aims to inform residents about potentially dangerous toys and other items that could be for sale this season. This year’s guide highlights incline sleepers and infant rocking sleepers connected to infant deaths, children’s clothing that has failed to meet flammability standards, toys that pose a choking hazard, toys with needles found in them and furniture that can cause injury if not properly secured. The guide also contains a list of additional resources for consumer protection, child safety and product recall information. The guide is available online at www.illinoisattorneygeneral.gov.
“This guide is a terrific resource clearly identifying products and the dangers they pose as well as the refunds to which you may be entitled,” Moylan said. “With the holidays approaching, this information is especially vital to protect your health, safety and your wallet.”
