ROUND LAKE BEACH, Ill. – With property taxes rising year after year, state Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, recently hosted a Property Tax Relief Workshop with Fremont Township Assessor Joe Herchenbach. It focused on the property assessment appeal process and how residents could use that process to get a reduction in their property taxes. With property taxes as high as they are, Yingling understands how much of a burden they can be on middle-class families.

“Middle-class families need relief from our astronomically high property taxes,” said Yingling. “There is no issue more pressing for my constituents than finding ways to reduce our property taxes. While I believe we made good progress in reducing property taxes during our last legislative session, there is still work that needs to be done. This workshop was just another step in helping make property taxes more manageable for the residents of my district.”
