CHICAGO – State Rep. Delia Ramirez, D-Chicago, will welcome residents to a town hall meeting on creating green jobs and combatting climate change with the Illinois Environmental Council (IEC) on Thursday, Nov. 7 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Wells High School, located at 936 N. Ashland Ave., in Chicago.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to host this event in partnership with the IEC and hear directly from the people of our community on this critical issue. From Puerto Rico to Illinois, it is clear we are seeing the impact of climate change,” Ramirez said. “But there is still time to act to face this crisis head-on. If we are going to address this issue, we need to make sure that front-line, marginalized communities are not left behind.”
Ramirez’s town hall event will aim to address a variety of topics and issues within environmentalism and climate action. Guests who attend will get the opportunity to learn more about open space protection, public transit and active transport, lead in drinking water, recycling, and waste management. For any constituents who would like to learn more, Ramirez can be reached through her email address at info@repdeliaramirez.com or her office number at 773-799-8219. Guests interested in attending can RSVP at ilenviro.org/ramirez.com. This event is free and open to the public.
