BLOOMINGDALE, Ill. – State Rep. Diane Pappas, D-Itasca, is offering an internship program for high school and college students to learn about state government and play an instrumental role in the community.

“This is an opportunity that will introduce students to how state government works and the importance of staying civically engaged,” said Pappas. “Through this experience, I hope to provide students with an understanding of the field of public service and empower them to become leaders in their communities.”

Pappas’ internship program will focus on community outreach within the district and doing research on important issues to residents. Additionally, students will assist with office tasks and working with Pappas on her legislative agenda. Pappas encourages all students interested in learning more about government to apply.

“Illinois is facing many challenges right now, and everyone’s opinion is essential as we work to make our state better for future generations,” said Pappas. “As interns in my district office, students will have the opportunity to make positive changes in the community and throughout the state.”
