EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – To connect with local constituents while keeping cool, state Rep. Katie Stuart, D-Edwardsville, held a ‘Cones with Katie’ event at Annie’s Frozen Custard in Edwardsville. Stuart met with constituents to talk about the issues most important to them, including local issues and recent legislation.

“Cones with Katie provides an informal setting for constituents to talk openly with me about the issues they see day to day in their communities,” Stuart said. “I was able to listen to my constituents’ needs individually and gain a deeper understanding of what is affecting them around the district.”

Stuart was able to talk with constituents regarding the 2019 Legislative Session that concluded a few weeks ago. Constituents asked questions about the state budget, the gas tax, and the content of the capital bill.

“There was a lot that happened during this legislative session,” continued Stuart. “I was happy to take the time to talk through some of the accomplishments of this year, while also addressing areas in which we can improve.”
