SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – In recognition of Marc Parker being named IHSA’s Official of the Year for boys basketball, state Rep. Katie Stuart, D-Edwardsville, recently introduced House Resolution 145 and welcomed Parker to the Capitol to congratulate him on the House floor.
“Marc’s commitment to local athletes and to our community is well-deserving of recognition,” said Stuart. “I congratulate him on more than 30 years of officiating for IHSA boys basketball, and hope he’ll continue to be a presence at games for many years to come.”
A lifelong resident of Collinsville, Parker was nominated for the honor and ultimately chosen due to his character, skill and work in the IHSA State Series. He is one of 22 Officials of the Year selected by the IHSA in different sports.
