ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. – State Rep. Mark Walker, D-Arlington Heights, is partnering with the League of Women Voters to collect winter clothing donations throughout November to benefit Journeys the Road Home Homeless Shelter.

“Journeys does very important work helping those experiencing homelessness, hunger or near homelessness,” Walker said. “As we begin to experience cooler weather, I am proud to partner with our local League of Women Voters chapter on this donation drive to help our community.”

Walker’s Winter Clothes Supply Drive will run the entire month of November. Suggested items include new or gently used clothing such as pants, hats, gloves, shoes, socks, sweatpants, sweatshirts and thermal underwear. Donations can be delivered to Walker’s office at 120 W. Eastman St., Ste. 207 in Arlington Heights, at the Mount Prospect Public Library and at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library.

“In 2018, Journeys provided over 50,000 services to over 900 people across the community,” Walker said. “Midwestern winters are tough on all of us, and I encourage residents to consider donating to help provide warmth to those in need.”
