CHICAGO – State Rep. Justin Slaughter, D-Chicago, is partnering with the 22ndPolice District to host a Legislative Town Hall on Saturday, Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon  at the 22nd Police District Station, located at 1900 W. Monterey Ave. in Chicago.

“Building a stronger Illinois and a better future for our families has always been one of my top priorities as a legislator,” said Slaughter. “This year, I supported a variety of measures to make health care more accessible and affordable, provide a living wage for working men and women, and ease the burden of taxes on middle class families. Hosting a town hall meeting like this provides an opportunity to share information on new laws passed in Springfield and answer any questions that local residents may have.”

Slaughter will highlight measures that passed during this year’s legislative session and answer questions on new laws. Attendees will be invited to give feedback and share ideas for new legislation on issues that matter most to them. In addition, Slaughter will also discuss his legislative agenda for next year. The event is free and open to the public.

“Hearing feedback directly from the residents I represent helps me to legislate more effectively and better represent their needs in Springfield,” said Slaughter. “I encourage all local residents to attend to share their input and ask questions.”
