SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Diane Pappas, D-Itasca, is hosting a workshop to assist community members with signing up for health care under the Affordable Care Act. The event is on Monday, Nov. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hanover Park District Community Center at 1919 Walnut Avenue in Hanover Park.
“I will work to ensure everyone in our community has access to affordable medical care,” Pappas said. “Quality health care is a human right, and no one should have to go without it because they missed a filing deadline or filled out the wrong paperwork. I encourage anyone interested in getting covered under the Affordable Care Act to attend.”
With submission deadlines approaching, Pappas’s workshop will focus on how to apply for and receive health care coverage under the Affordable Care Act. She is holding the workshop with state Rep. Fred Crespo and members of the Department of Insurance’s Get Covered Illinois initiative. This workshop is free and geared towards anyone who needs health care or who is looking to learn more about getting covered under the ACA.
