Lilly Attends Stop Domestic Violence Seminar

​CHICAGO – State Rep. Camille Y. Lilly, D-Chicago, recently attended a Stop Domestic Violence Seminar to highlight the issues of domestic violence and connect citizens with domestic violence prevention resources.

“Any person at any time from any background can face domestic or intimate partner violence,” Lilly said. “It is critical that we do everything we can to prevent domestic violence and to connect survivors to resources that help them heal.”

Lilly attended the Stop Domestic Violence Seminar sponsored by the Westside Ministers’ Coalition and featuring domestic violence prevention advocates from the office of Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx. Lilly also spoke to attendees about her work to protect victims of domestic violence. This year, Lilly sponsored House Bill 887 to revoke Firearm Owner’s Identification Cards (FOID) from convicted stalkers and supported new laws to provide for faster processing of no contact orders by judges and police and to expand address confidentiality to include victims of stalking and sexual assault.
