Rep. Hernandez Responds to Incident of Racial Bias at Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Barbara Hernandez, D-Aurora, issued the following statement in response to a recent incident of racial bias at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) in Aurora:

“Since its founding decades ago, IMSA has stood as a symbol of forward-thinking, reflective, inclusive learning; I was shocked and saddened to hear that an incident of such senseless cruelty happened on their campus. My concerns right now are with students who have had their home invaded by bigotry, and my strongest condemnations are with the perpetrators.”
