RED BUD, Ill. – State Rep. Nathan Reitz, D-Steeleville, recently presented the Red Bud High School trap shooting team with a scholarship check from the Illinois Sportsman’s Caucus to help the team with expenses and the purchase of equipment.
“It was great to meet with the young men of the Red Bud High School trap shooting team,” Reitz said. “Teams like trap shooting promote lifelong skills like focus and teamwork, build character and can provide experiences that shape a person for their life. Hunting and shooting remain one of the largest traditions shared by Southern Illinois families, and I’m happy to be able to present this scholarship from the Illinois Sportsman’s Caucus to such a deserving group so they can continue to grow.”
As a member of the statewide caucus, Reitz choose the Red Bud High School trap shooting team to receive one of ten scholarship checks from the Illinois Sportsman’s Caucus he will be presenting to various well-deserving organizations over the coming weeks.
