AURORA, Ill. – To help connect residents with local resources and critical services, state Rep. Barbara Hernandez, D-Aurora is hosting a free community resource fair on Saturday, Oct. 19 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Prisco Community Center, located at 150 W. Illinois Ave. in Aurora.
“There are countless organizations in our community and state that supply free or low cost services to families, so I wanted to create an opportunity for local residents to see what resources are available and provide easier access to them,” said Hernandez. “I am thrilled to have over 25 different organizations participating in this fair, with services ranging from utility bill relief, financial aid information, immigration services, flu shots and other health resources, and much more.”
Residents are encouraged to attend the event to meet Hernandez and share their concerns on state and local issues while getting information from the various vendors. Those who wish to receive their annual flu shot provided by Jewel-Osco can do so with a valid form of insurance or Medicaid card. The event is free and open to the public.
“I encourage families and individuals to stop by the resource fair to connect with these great organizations,” said Hernandez. “There really is something for everyone at this fair, and I am grateful for the organizations who are willing to participate and give their time to support the community.”
