CHICAGO – In an effort to provide property tax relief to local residents, state Rep. Justin Slaughter, D-Chicago, partnered with the Cook County Board of Review’s Commissioner Larry R. Rogers, Jr. to host a free property tax appeal seminar last week.

“As I walk door to door, I often talk to homeowners who are struggling to afford skyrocketing property taxes,” Slaughter said. “It is clear that relief is needed, and hosting a property tax appeal seminar is an opportunity to connect homeowners in our area with the resources they need to file an appeal.”

Slaughter has continuously fought for property tax relief while serving in the General Assembly. Slaughter recently backed Senate Bill 39, which creates the Property Tax Relief Fund to provide rebates to property taxpayers, and Senate Bill 1932 which creates the Property Tax Relief Task Force, a bipartisan group of individuals that will work to deliver comprehensive solutions to provide real property tax relief to local families.
