NORTHBROOK, Ill. – State Rep. Jonathan Carroll, D-Northbrook, met with the owner of a local hardware store to discuss issues facing the local community and answer questions concerning upcoming legislation.
“Meetings like this are crucial, because I want to hear the concerns and priorities of the people and businesses in my community,” Carroll said. “I’ve pledged to build a stronger Illinois, and our local businesses play a critical role in that. Illinois should be attracting businesses to relocate here and help communities grow and thrive. This year, I helped pass policies that will accomplish that goal.”
Carroll met with the owner of a local ACE Hardware in Northbrook to discuss current issues facing local business owners and the state. Carroll supported a balanced budget plan that was backed by the Illinois Manufacturer’s Association, which eliminates burdensome taxes and fees for small and medium-sized businesses and puts the state on better financial footing for the future.
“Manufacturing is a critical component of Illinois’ economy,” said Mark Denzler, President & Chief Executive Officer of the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association. “We appreciate Rep. Carroll for working in a bipartisan manner to balance the state’s budget and reduce taxes on manufacturers while making a large investment to rebuild our state’s infrastructure.”
