ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. – After an eventful spring session, state Rep. Mark Walker, D-Arlington Heights, is co-hosting with state Sen. Gillespie, D-Arlington Heights, “Springfield Update” town halls to help inform residents about the many changes in Springfield impacting the local area and Illinois.
“This session was one of the busiest and most productive we’ve seen in a long time,” Walker noted. “With over 5,000 bills filed, it’s easy to miss important legislation impacting our communities. That’s why Sen. Gillespie and I wanted to be sure to provide opportunities to highlight the most impactful events of the past few months, and to allow for time to hear thoughts and concerns from the community.”
Walker will be hosting two events with Gillespie next week. On Monday, June 24 the lawmakers will host a town hall at the Mount Prospect Public Library, located at 10 S. Emerson St., from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and on Wednesday, June 26 at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library, located at 500 N. Dunton Ave, also from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Both events are free to attend.
“From the Fair Tax plan to adult use cannabis legalization and the minimum wage increase, we’ll be presenting information that residents of all backgrounds will find helpful,” Walker added. “Hearing from those we represent and making sure our constituents are well informed are top priorities of both Sen. Gillespie and myself. We encourage all residents to attend.”
