Pappas Hears from Constituents about Legislative Concerns That Will Impact Businesses in the 45th District

BLOOMINGDALE, Ill. – State Rep. Diane Pappas, D-Itasca, launched her Small Business Advisory Committee Tuesday evening, with a discussion on how proposed legislation will impact both small business owners and employees.

“One of the prominent issues small business owners have brought up to me is the difficulty in the hiring and recruiting process,” said Pappas. “With these advisory committee meetings, the hope is to collectively talk through these concerns and develop workable solutions so that our local businesses can thrive.”

Pappas plans to host her Small Business Advisory Committees on a quarterly basis. Whether it is a Bank and Trust Corporation or a family-owned restaurant, these businesses still face similar setbacks, and deserve to have their unique perspectives addressed.

“I heard about a multitude of issues that some of our small businesses face, which I was not aware of before the meeting,” said Pappas. “Now I have a broader scope of issues to take into consideration when looking at legislative proposals, and I intend to broaden that scope even further through additional advisory committee meetings.”
