CICERO, Ill. – State Rep. Elizabeth “Lisa” Hernandez, D-Cicero, Town President Larry Dominick and Town Assessor Emilio “Emo” Cundari will be hosting a Property Tax Appeal Seminar on Friday, April 26 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Cicero Community Center, located at 2250 S. 49th Avenue in Cicero.

“One of the top concerns I hear from families in my community is the issue of rising property taxes,” Hernandez said. “Oftentimes, working families do not know that they may be able to appeal their property tax bill, which is why I’m working with our local assessors to help provide crucial information to local families.”

This event is free and open to the public. Officials from the Cook County Assessor’s Office will be on hand to help residents understand the process of appealing their property tax bill. Homeowners are encouraged to bring their most recent property tax bill and valid forms of identification to receive one-on-one help. They may can print the necessary appeal documents at http://cookcountyassessor.com/PdfForms/Appeal-Forms.aspx and are encouraged to fill out as much as they can before the event.
