ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. – As part of his continued outreach to constituents and local businesses, state Rep. Mark Walker, D-Arlington Heights, recently hosted a small business roundtable discussion at the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce.
“Working on positive small business legislation to benefit job creators in our communities is one of my main priorities in Springfield,” Walker said. “I’m glad to have these discussions with local business leaders about my priorities and the current landscape in Springfield. Hearing about their needs is especially important as we work to pass legislation critical to small business interests.”
In attendance were representatives from the Arlington Heights and Mount Prospect Chambers of Commerce as well as business owners located in the 53rd district. In addition to his work on pro-small business reforms, Walker is fighting to pass the Fair Tax because almost every small business owner in the area would receive an income tax cut if passed. As a retired entrepreneur and business consultant, Walker’s background provides an important bridge between business interests and state government.
“Over the past few months, we in Springfield have acted on issues directly impacting and benefiting business communities,” Walker said. “Hosting events like a roundtable is an excellent way to meet with constituents in a productive and informative way. I greatly appreciate those who attended and look forward to future discussions.”
