SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Governor J.B. Pritzker recently accepted an appointment nomination made by state Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, for the Illinois Council of Women and Girls.

“I proudly nominated Ines Kutlesa to the Illinois Council on Women and Girls, because of her invaluable decades-long experience with Guardian Angel Community Services (GACS),” said Manley. “Through her role at Guardian Angel, Kutlesa has worked to ensure that survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault have received the services and support they need.”

Manley was a strong advocate for the nomination of Ines Kutlesa because of her impressive work history and achievements with GACS, an organization that has provided services to thousands of survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, the majority of which are women and girls. Manley’s nomination was also supported by Republican Leader Jim Durkin.

“I want to extend my sincere appreciation to Leader Durkin for his support of my recommendation of Kutlesa’s appointment.  The last several years, under the Rauner administration, have been difficult for both our caucuses and our coming together behind this appointment is an indication that purpose overrides politics,” continued Manley.  “In her new role, Ines can continue to be an advocate for women and girls.  The issues that face Illinois’ women transcend politics and it’s time to find solutions.  I am confident that Ines Kutlesa is absolutely the right person to help lead us in the right direction.”
