CHICAGO – Hundreds of community members gathered at the Leonard M. Louie Fieldhouse on Saturday, March 23 to receive free health screenings, vision and dental services at a community health fair hosted by state Rep. Theresa Mah, D-Chicago.
“It’s important for residents to keep an eye on their health, and learn about proper nutrition and preventive measures to reduce the risk of illnesses,” said Mah. “I am grateful to the numerous community partners and volunteers who donated their time to provide information and free health services to local families with this goal in mind.”
Mah’s health fair offered free BMI, glucose and cholesterol screenings, as well as vision and dental services, to help residents identify potential risks to their overall wellness and identify follow-up steps to manage or decrease their health risks. The Meraki Nail Tech School and Cannella School of Hair Design also provided free manicures and haircuts.
Mah is serving her second term representing the 2nd District, which includes the Chicago neighborhoods of McKinley Park, Pilsen, Chinatown, Bridgeport, Brighton Park and Back of the Yards. For more information, please contact Mah’s district office at 872-281-5775.
