Jones Helps Local Seniors Understand Their Legal Resources During Event

LYNWOOD, Ill. – This week, state Rep. Thaddeus Jones, D-Calumet City, was joined by representatives from the Center for Disability and Elder Law to assist seniors on how to utilize their available legal tools.

“It is crucial that seniors receive the legal advice they need right now and that they may not know about,” said Jones. “I will always fight to ensure that people know about what’s available to them because they need to know that the law is on their side.”

Jones’s legal seminar provided legal information to seniors about matters important to those in the later stages of life. Experts from the Center for Disability and Elder Law discussed issues including granting someone power of attorney and what a living will is, and how they can benefit them and their families.

“No one can be too careful when it comes to life planning,” said Jones. “Anyone who was unable to make the event should contact my office for information they missed during the legal fair.”
