Evans Statement on Budget Address

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Marcus C. Evans Jr, D-Chicago, issued the following statement following Governor J.B. Pritzker’s Budget address:

“Illinois is ready for a fresh start. Today in his budget address Governor J.B. Pritzker unveiled his plan to get our state back on track.

“To move Illinois forward we need bold leadership. As the Chair of the Labor & Commerce committee, I will fight to create good-paying jobs in our community and work to ensure that any potential Capitol bill invests in minority neighborhoods, businesses and contractors. We also must continue our fight for criminal justice reform, to rectify the injustices of the past and build a more equitable future for all Illinoisans.

“I look forward to working to lift up our neighborhoods and state back up and working with Governor Pritzker and my colleagues on both side of the aisle to create a stronger Illinois for all.”
