CHICAGO – State Rep. Kelly Burke, D-Evergreen Park, is inviting residents to join her and state Sen. Bill Cunningham, D-Chicago, for a cup of coffee and a discussion on current events, state updates, and local suggestions for policy improvements.
“I always make it a priority to remain open and accessible to the people I represent,” Burke said. “This event is a chance for residents to talk informally with me about state issues, have questions answered and learn more about the services available through my office.”
The ‘Coffee and Conversation’ event will be held on Saturday, Feb. 20 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the Wrightwood-Ashburn Chicago Public Library, located 8530 S. Kedzie in Chicago. Burke and Cunningham will be available to discuss the ongoing budget negotiations, the upcoming spring legislative session, the help their offices can provide when navigating state programs, or any other state issue.
“As the state continues to operate without a budget, I’ll rely on residents’ opinions even more as I consider the difficult decisions that must be made during the upcoming months,” Burke said. “Please join me for this event to learn more about current events and help me move Illinois forward.”
This event is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact Burke’s constituent service office at 708-425-0571 or kburke@kellyburkerep36.org.
