ROCKFORD, Ill.– State Rep. Dave Vella, D-Rockford, is excited to announce a community paint recycling event, aimed at helping residents dispose of unwanted paint responsibly. The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 25th, starting at 9:00 AM, in Rockford, IL.
“This is a great opportunity for individuals in the community to come out and donate their leftover paint that might be sitting in storage, taking up space, and can instead be repurposed or recycled for something else,” said Vella. “I wanted this to be a simple, no-cost way for people in the community to recycle their leftover latex or oil-based paint.”
Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful, which is committed to environmental stewardship through community local clean-up initiatives, will be managing the collection process to make sure the paint is handled responsibly.
Residents are encouraged to check their storage areas now and gather any qualifying paint (latex or oil based) to take advantage of this free service on April 25th.
